Japanese Fashion label ETHOSENS breaks from the conventional idea of men's wear with creative designs and prints. The head designer Yui Hashimoto, started the label in 2007 and has so far has been presenting his work at Fashion Weeks in Paris and Tokyo.

Michael Angel Spring 2010 Collection

Marchesa: sheer beauty, Fall 2010

There was plenty about Marchesa's Fall 2010 collection that fit perfectly within the label's signature style. Long gowns entwined with ruffles, fluffy feathered skirts, and the mandatory injections of draping silk and tulle. But this time around there was also a strong selection of super-short playful (yet still phenomenally detailed) dresses that the current set of young socialites and starlets will no doubt be jumping all over as red carpet fare.

David Koma presented us with a highly graphic, structured yet easy collection this season.

While excellently executed we are tiring of the whole overly architectural silhouette trend and were expecting and needing to see something new. The Wilma Flintstone-esque seems and panelling emphasised the fitted nature of the pieces, removing the need for structural elements in this paired back collection. However there was nothing Stone Age about this, references were most definitely towards the future with the colour palette limited to a very minimal black, grey and nude.

In the latter part of the collection we were treated to some classic Koma with the 3D, spiral interpretation of the zigzag accompanied by our favourite soundtrack Cerrone’s Supernature which perfectly suited the mood. The beautifully crafted, glistening details made from zip teeth are stunning but more in an art sculpture type of way rather than the we want to wear this way.

Private Moon by Leonid Tishkov

Has you ever saw a moon so close that you could touch it? Russian artists Leonid Tishkov have created a series of artwork titled “Private Moon”, where he give life to a man and his moon.

“Private Moon” is a visual poem, telling a story about a man who found the Moon and stayed with her for the rest of his life.

In the upper world, in the attic of his house, he saw the Moon which had fallen from the sky. At first she was hiding from the sun in a dark, damp tunnel and was constantly frightened by the passing trains. Then she came to the house of the man.

Wrapping the moon in a thick blanket, he gives her autumn apples and drinks tea with her. When she finally recovers he puts her on a boat and carries her across a dark river to a high bank, where moon pine-trees grow.

He descends to the lower world wearing the clothes of his deceased father and then returns, illuminating the way with his private moon.

Transcending the borders between worlds via narrow bridges, sinking into sleep, taking care of the heavenly body, man turns into a mythological being living in the real world like in a fantastic fairy-tale.
